Eyelid Surgery
Brighter, more dazzling eyes await with an eyelid lift
Plastic surgery of the eyelids, also known as blepharoplasty, can improve the appearance of the upper and lower eyelids. The first portion of the face to show signs of aging is often the eyelids, giving a tired look. Undergoing a blepharoplasty can provide you with a rejuvenated appearance, making you look more rested and alert.Eyelid surgery is recommended for

Blepharoplasty can usually correct these problems, though other eyelid treatments must also be considered. Droopy eyebrows can be lifted with a ‘brow lift’ or ’forehead lift’. The fine wrinkles beside the eyes, referred to as ‘crow’s feet’ can be treated with Wrinkle Relaxers®. Laser resurfacing or chemical peels can also improve fine wrinkles and tighten lower eyelid skin. Dark circles beneath the eyes can be addressed with fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, or Radiesse. The team at Clinique K can help you decide on which option is best for you, based on your needs and expectations.
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is performed through incisions in the creases above the eyelids. Excess skin, fat, and sometimes muscle is removed, creating a ‘cleaner’ looking upper eyelid and a more youthful look. The lower eyelid incisions are made just below the eyelashes, excess skin is trimmed, and both skin and muscle tightened. Excess fat is commonly removed. Ultimately, a blepharoplasty will make your eyes look refreshed, giving you a more rested appearance.
Since the healing process is gradual, you should expect 1-2 weeks of recovery time. You can resume wearing eye makeup 10 days after surgery. Incisions will fade over several weeks, becoming barely visible. The results of eyelid surgery are long-lasting, and you can expect them to last 10-15 years. Ultimately, how long will depend on genetics and lifestyle.
